Before becoming a Netflix original, lovesick was known as ‘Scrotal Recall’ (raising a lot of eyebrows when it aired for the first time). Netflix revived this lovely and thoughtful series ( changing the name to lovesick) (very good move) for a 2nd season releasing the show in 2017.
It’s about a man named Dylan (Johnny Flynn) who, upon being diagnosed with chlamydia, has to do the responsible thing and call all of his previous girlfriends/partners.
Each episode is named after one of Dylan’s former girlfriend/partner and the series works through them in alphabetical order.
Throughout the first season, we get to know Dylan, Luke and Evie’s respective stories by way of flashbacks to Dylan’s former relationships and hook-ups, giving us a better understanding of their situations in the present.

Antonia Thomas ( who plays Evie in this show) recently told Paste that lovesick “taps into a specific moment for a generation of people.” The series follows its protagonists through a time of uncertainty. Their chosen path in life and their careers aren’t yet defined, and they make no secret of it: They’re not out to pretend they have it all together when, clearly, they don’t. The show’s lead characters are Dylan, Luke, and Evie.
Dylan is a crazy romantic person who thinks that every girl he meets is the girl of his dreams, falling in love with her instantly.
Luke (Daniel Ings) is Dylan’s best friend who is a fast talking womanizer, very funny character (serving as a backbone responsible for all the apeshit things happening in the series) who we get to know from flashbacks. (he too had a very serious relationship, you see)
Evie, Luke’s friend and flatmate, whose will-they-or-won’t-they dynamic with Dylan makes for some of the show’s most emotional moments.
All of them also share a house as well as a solid friendship. (we see the friendship flourish with each season)

From the writing, acting and direction of each and every episode, Lovesick is an amazing ride that accomplishes the very essence of romcom. It’s funny, sensitive, relatable and downright amazing!
Netflix hasn’t officially announced season 3 yet (fingers crossed) (lets hope Netflix orders 3rd season ASAP)
Each episode runs for around 25 minutes (season 1 has six episodes where season 2 has eight), so you can easily complete both seasons over a single weekend (Which you should do, right away) (Do not miss this show xD)
